Backing Compound SECAL
SECAL is a sealing and anti shock mass of epoxy base without solvent, with two components, offering excellent mechanical and chemical performances as well as an adherence on concrete and exemplary onto steel. SECAL has an excellent fluidity (mixture bases - hardener). SECAL has excellent adhesion properties, ideal for use with concrete, and is the perfect match for use with Steel.
Packaging1 kit of 8kg = 6kg of resin + 2kg of hardener. The can of 6kg is sufficiently large to be able to carry out a homogeneous mixture under the best conditions! Our hardener is provided in the form of paste and not out of powder, thus preventing the product from flying away at the time of strong winds or other bad handling.
The Pot Life is sufficient to carry out the mixture without problem but it is nevertheless necessary to pour it as soon as possible in order to avoid an exothermic reaction " in chain " which would cause a hardening of the mass in a few minutes. The Pot Life is approximately 1 hour at 20°C for 100grams. Homogeneity of the mixture hardener - base must be perfect to allow a good bonding of all components.
CompositionBinding system based on epoxy and its hardener.
Pigment: various silicates.
Density: 1,38 mixed.
Non-volatile matter: 100% in volume and 100% in weight.
Pot Life : 1 hour at 20°C for 100grams.
Drying Temperature at 20°C:
- Tack free: approximately 12 hours.
- Hard: 24 hours.
- Total resistance: after 14 days.
Fineness: granulometry less than 50.
Reticulation ratio: 79/21
Adhesion onto concrete: by tearing off = more than 3 N/mm², breaking in the concrete.
Adhesion onto steel: more than 6 N/mm² (limit of the testing device).
Induction phase: none.
Mode of applicationBy pouring.
Attention, during the processing of very big pieces, it is advised, in order to decrease the risk of exothermic reactions, to charge the base-hardener mixture by means of washed and dried quartz of granulometry from 0,7 to 1,8 mm for example. This method also makes it possible to produce cheap epoxy concrete of good quality!
Surface treatmentSteel: the support must be dry, clean and free from grease. A sanding SA2/1/2 - SA3 is advised.
Concrete: Moisture on the surface of the concrete or cement must be lower than 5% and the surface must also be free from any dust or impurity.
Application conditionsMinimum temperature 10°C
Temperature of the surfaces: 3°C at dew point.
Storage stability 2 years in its original packing, unopened between -40°C and +50°C.
Transport informationFlash point: higher than 200°C DIN51758.
